It's a man thing that women wouldn't understand.......lol.
As I left work for the weekly animal shelter treck this afternoon my exit from the office was blocked. An 18-wheel coal rig had broken down on our street.
Instead of calling a wrecker service they decide that a Chevy 1500 was all the towing power they needed (towing capacity 5700 lbs - this was the lower-end silverado). I sat and watched them hook a chain to the hitch of the 1500, and a chain to the rear of the rig with the intent of pulling it off 11th street and make it do a 90 degree turn onto the cross street. The rig was on an slight uphill slope when it broke down. The 1500 started pulling and since it was being pulled off a slope it worked until (and how many of us saw this coming) - the rig slammed into the back of the pickup.
By this time it was off the slight slope on on level ground so they had no gravity working for them. I could have gotten out by this point but I wanted to watch and see what they did next. Three more times they put the chain back on, put the 1500 in 4-wheel drive, and three more times just sat and spun their wheels. The driver of the 1500 had the pedal to the metal - at one point he was spinning his truck sideways, only stopping when he heard a loud pop that shouldn't be heard coming from the undercarriage of a truck.
This went on for about 45 minutes before they decided to call a wrecker service to move the thing about 150 yards out of the road.
You'll shoot your eye out.

Well this woman understands that a Chevy 1500 doesn't have the towing capacity to pull a rig like that around a 90 degree curve..... AND....... that when you yank a rig downhill towards the back of your little 1500 that it's attached to, you're going to wind up with some rear-end damage to your truck!

shit its not a man thing, thats a moron thing lol
thats asking to break your rig and your truck
Didn't Government Motors, uh, excuse me, Chevy advertise one of their trucks pulling an 18-wheeler a few years ago, all as part of their "LIKE A ROCK" theme?
The only thing that would have stopped me from trying was the downhill grade. Once on level I say go for it. Although, I don't think I'd have wasted as much rubber or kept going till the pickup popped. It's one thing to try for trying's sake but that's pure idiocy.

I have an S-10 4WD pick-up and I have never had any trouble out of it. It is a 2002, but I have not had any problems other than the occasional light burning out(brake light, tail-light sort of thing.
You can get a lemon in anything, I guess. Two in a row has broken me.But to be honest, the places I took that s-10 blazer weren't what is was designed for. It isn't really large things, fuel pumps, window motors , intake gasket...light switches- on and on. I've put more in these two than everything else I ever drove , combined (35 years worth). And that vac line on the 4x4 blazer, if it snowed on the ole mountain, you could bet it would get another hole in it. In 2 years I replaced the whole line 3 times. Maybe they just didn't like me.
